Red Elm Lumber

Red Elm (Ulmus Rubra) is a small to medium size tree that originated in North America. Red Elm wood is known for having sapwood that is white to light brown in color and heartwood that has a reddish brown to dark brown color. Red Elm lumber can have a grain that is straight, but often has a grain that is interlocking. Red Elm is hard and stiff with good bending and shock resistance. Red Elm is also moderately heavy in weight. Red Elm is fairly easy to work (sand and stain) and can provide a nice finish.

Common uses for Red Elm lumber include cabinet making, furniture, millwork, molding and other general constructions.

Cook Lumber Company has the capabilities to provide small to medium quantities of Red Elm lumber to companies worldwide while complying with all national and international lumber laws.
